Winter Cups Complete!

What a month, and what a way to kick off the year with a new brand, and some renewed energy for our sport.  Detroit was a blast, but this past weekend in Apex was very gratifying.  As many of you know, a lot of the passion that drives me in running tournaments is to give the youth players in our sport an experience that they will never forget.

Throughout the weekend, I saw this on the faces of many of the kids that were competing fiercely in this tournament.  I heard it from the parents, as they watched, and cheered on their kids.  But most gratifying of all, I heard it from a lot of you, who made a point to come up and thank us for allowing their kids the opportunity to play in such a great event.  This is what it is all about.  This is why we do this!  I truly believe that our game is the most exciting game in the world.  Having watched some of the action this past weekend, I was reminded of just how great it is.  Our goal is to continue to bring you the very best in the overall tournament experience, and we greatly appreciate the support you have given us, which allows us to continue to deliver top notch events!

As for the action this weekend, here is a quick recap of our division champions...

6U: Dragons Red

8U: Primetime Dragons White

10U: Flying Monkeys

12U: Dragons Black

14U: Dragons

16U Tier One: Alkali Assault 98

16U Tier Two: Charlotte Checkers

Men's Silver: Napalm

Men's Gold: Alkali Assault Premier

I would like to send out a special thank you to Steve and the staff at Dreamsports Center.  Without them, this event does not run as smoothly as it did.  We really enjoy coming into Apex, and one of the main reasons why is because the service in the facility is impeccable.  We also would like to thank all the teams who braved the weather this weekend, and made it to the rink on time for their games.  I know that it was a challenge, especially on Friday night, and we greatly appreciate your willingness to get to the rink for your scheduled games.

This puts a wrap on the Winter Cup season.  All attention now will be on our season opener, which is March 22-24 at JCC in Detroit.  Our full season schedule is available on the home page of our website under the Events tab.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Thanks again, and we will see you soon!
